The Affordable Housing landscape has changed in recent years as the number of for-profits housing associations being set-up has increased. Back in 2008, the then Labour government introduced legislation that allowed for-profit making providers to enter the market to attract new sources of funding into the industry and increase competition.
The current period of rapid expansion in the market began in 2018, with the entrance of established companies into the sector having brought more capital into the market.
